Shiatsu is a form of body work or manipulative therapy coming to us from Japan, combining traditional Japanese massage (anma) with chiropractic and massage, supporting the movement of qi through the meridians of the body. Shiatsu means finger press, and can be seen as a form of acu-pressure, though it also involves unique forms of applying pressure and gentle manipulation. It is a dynamic art, working from head to toe and through this holistic approach we receive support in overall wellbeing and relief of discomfort. Unlike western massage, it is done with light clothing and no oils.

The form, or kata that I learned came from Yamamoto, transmitted through… and Jim Cleaver, to my teachers.

As I’m currently a student working on attaining my licenses for massage alongside acupuncture and Chinese medicine, session are by donation. We can also integrate other modalities into a session.

Letting Mercury take the lead, we weave a new story. We will create space with journal prompts and meditations to explore the way your relationship with the planetary archetypes resonate with your deepest desires, sources of drive, and sense of joy and purpose.
